“…As this was not a eontrolled study, it was impossible to document an enhancement or hindrance to healing from the inclusion of cartilage. Schrieber et al (1959) placed 70% ethyl alcohol treated cartilage allografts into surgically created periodontal defects in 3 dogs. They observed a new attachment apparatus in both grafted and control sites and concluded that similar results could be obtained by subgingival curettage alone.…”
