Describe the preventive practices of contraceptive methods that can be used in postpartum adolescents in a Hospital in La Rioja. The methodology that frames the research is descriptive, transversal and the type of sampling is probabilistic of different situations that occurred, having a total population of 84 women who attended a Hospital in Rioja. The participants were 84 women, whose percentage of return to sexual activity after childbirth occurred in 36 women with 42.86%, with an approximate time ranging from the eighth week to 5.68, on the other hand 54 participants with 64.29% admitted having participated in antisocial activities within weeks 2 and 3 after the onset of pregnancy. The main cases in which sexual relations occurred were due to personal and comfort 47% with a total of 17 participants and at the request of the couple 12 women with 33% the reasons for not starting sexual activity again were due to fear that it could having pain, having a percentage of 30% statistically, while the fear of 20 other women was to get pregnant again with 20%. 87% (n=47) of the women who practiced non-cohabitation dedicated themselves only to kisses and erotic caresses. The majority used a quarterly hormonal injection as contraception after continuous treatment, 38% (n=14). 44.05% (n=37) used hormones. Ampoules which were placed every three months, being their most modern contraceptive. Conclusion. The preventive and contraceptive practices of postpartum women at the Rioja Hospital were the following: out of personal desire and convenience, a percentage of less than half of the women continued with sexual practices. It is worth mentioning that the majority of these began this coexistence two weeks after giving birth and finally the vast majority chose to continue taking care of themselves with a quarterly contraceptive in a vial for an average of 8 weeks; When resuming cohabitation sexual practices, it was more than half in two weeks.
