Cardioprotection from stress conditions by weak magnetic fields in the Schumann Resonance band

Abstract: The Schumann Resonances (ScR) are Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) electromagnetic resonances in the Earth-ionosphere cavity excited by global lightning discharges. This natural electromagnetic noise has likely existed on the Earth ever since the Earth had an atmosphere and an ionosphere, hence surrounding us throughout our evolutionary history. The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of extremely weak magnetic fields in the ScR first mode frequency range on the spontaneous contractions, calcium tr… Show more

“…Low frequency magnetic oscillations, around 3 Hz, was observed to cause Altered EEG rhythms with sedative effect [115]. Applying the lowest Schumann Resonance (SR) frequency of 7.8 Hz with 90 nano Tesla for 1.5 hours was found to be cardioprotective from stress conditions with reduction of the amount of CK released to the buffer, during normal conditions, hypoxic conditions and oxidative stress induced by 80 μM H2O2 [116]. The longest record in human history of human heart rate variability (HRV) synchronized with Solar Wind indices, Shumann Resonances (SR) and Galactic Cosmic Rays (GCR) monitoring was achieved by our group [117].…”

“…As discussed in Section 1, these natural fields, consisting of short-duration and damped oscillating electromagnetic impulses, are able to affect the Earth's environment and the living organisms (Panagopoulos and Balmori 2017). Despite one recent in vitro result of the influence of electromagnetic fields at the Schumann resonance in rat cardiomyocyte cultures (Elhalel et al 2019) and some evidence that this kind of fields can be sensed by humans through different types of indications, such as headache and fatigue (Panagopoulos and Balmori 2017), up to now, a clear explanation for this association has not been provided.…”

“…This result was obtained during normal conditions, hypoxic environment and use of 80 μM H 2 O 2 to induce oxidative stress. It sees that the first range of ScR has an effect on cardiac cell characterized by CK release reduction as a stress response and this effect is of a protective effect [103]. Magnetic field dynamics could add to our future understanding of the SGMA interaction with human heart in health and disease.…”
