Abstract: Background: Serum cardiac troponin concentrations are commonly increased in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) in the absence of an acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The data on cardiac troponin I (cTnI) are more variable than those for cardiac troponin T (cTnT).
