Abstract:The endothelium‐mediated vasomotor function of skeletal muscle arterioles has been shown to be impaired in HHcy. Thus we hypothesized that HHcy modulates the reactive hyperemic response of coronary circulation following occlusion. Rats received 1g/kg of body weight methionine daily, for 5 weeks in the drinking water to induce mild HHcy (~ 30 μmol vs. ~ 7 μmol). In Langendorff‐perfused hearts reactive hyperemia (RH) after 5 min of global ischemia was studied prior to and after the simultaneous administration of… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
