Abstract: BACKGROUND In December of 2019, Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) emerged, resulting in a global pandemic with 125 million cases worldwide.
