Carcass consumption by Nasutitermes callimorphus (Blattodea: Isoptera) in highland forests from Brazil

Abstract: This note reports the occurrence of carcass feeding by Nasutitermes callimorphus, a endemic termite from brazilian evergreen forests. Based on this observation and previous reports, it is plausible to think that drought may play a important role in the occurrence of necrophagy in termites.
