Abstract:We introduce the novel carbon nanoparticles with specific structure and feature. They are made from precursors of polyacrylonitrile(PAN)-based polymer in the original process. The shape and structure of the derived carbon products, which are designed by selecting the size and molding the precursors of polymer, are very uniform. Also, these particles showing their forms individually, have the excellent dispersibility in some mediums and show the functional property. Since they can be prepared corresponding to t… Show more
“…Finally, the carbon was liberated from the silica matrix by washing with aqueous NaOH solution. Previously, we tried to prepare CNPs without the silica matrix, 5 but most of the polymer nanoparticles collapsed during the carbonization process.…”
A pod-like form of a hollow nanocarbon "carbon nanopod" with controllable graphene layer orientation and good water-dispersibility has been synthesized with extremely high selectivity and without any impurities.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
