Carbon Monoxide Generation from Trihalomethane Metabolism in Rats

Abstract: Carboxyhaemoglobin (COHb) formation in rats after oral administration of trichloromethane (TCM), bromodichloromethane (BDCM), chlorodibromomethane (CDBM) and tribromomethane (TBM) increased in the order TCM < BDCM < CDBM < TBM.
