Abstract:A direct [1 + 2] cycloaddition reaction between an N-heterocyclic
carbene-stabilized acyclic aluminylene and bis(trimethylsilyl)acetylene
leads to the formation of neutral aluminacyclopropene, compound 2. However, this compound demonstrates thermal instability
in solution, resulting in an aluminacyclopropene–cyclopropenylalane
rearrangement. This transformation exemplifies a formal constitutional
isomerization between the C–AlC2 and Al–C3 systems. Density functional theory computations provide insights
into th… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
