“…Amostras (arremesso do quadrado 1 x 1m) foram colhidas a cada 30 dias depois do corte de uniformização, mediante cortes a 30cm do solo, visando simular o manejo de pastejo da braquiária, respeitando as características morfofisiológicas da planta (Silva, 1995). O período de coleta das amostras foi de dezembro de 2004 a abril de 2005.…”

“…The adopted grazing method was continuous stocking with a variable stocking rate, using the put-and-take method (Mott & Lucas, 1952). In each paddock, six tester animals and a variable number of regulators were used, according to the need to adjust the stocking rate to maintain the management goal, with an average lawn height of 30 cm, which is within the range (20-40 cm) considered as optimal pasture conditions (S. C. Silva, 2004). The height ILF-1L: eucalyptus trees planted in simple lines, the distance between each strip of eucalyptus from 17 to 21 m and the distance between plants of 2 m, with density of 196 trees ha -1 ; ILF-3L: eucalyptus trees planted in triple rows, the distance between the eucalyptus bands from 17 to 21 m, the distance between 2 m plants and the distance between 3 m eucalyptus lines with a density of 448 trees ha -1 .…”

“…The breeding of tropical forages, such as of the genus Urochloa, is underway to help producers overcome some biotic and abiotic limitations, such as the spittlebug susceptibility, that limits these species productivity in Brazilian livestock systems (Valle et al, 2022). A new cultivar of U. ruziziensis (BRS Integra) was launched in 2022 by Embrapa.…”

“…Success in pasture establishing depends, initially, on the number of plants established per unit of soil area. Although there is no specific recommendation for U. ruziziensis, and more specifically for the cultivar BRS Integra, some authors suggest densities ranging from 8 to 40 plants/m 2 for U. humidicola and U. brizantha (Obeid et al, 1995;Valle et al, 2022).…”
