Características Fisiológicas, Contenido de Aceite y Proteína en Genotipos de Soya, Evaluadas en Diferentes Sitios y Épocas de Cosecha, Brasil

Abstract: A B S T R A C TThe objective of this study was to evaluate physiologic characteristics and oil and protein content in four soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) cultivars (BRS 133, BRS 206, BRS 239 and CD 202) which were harvested in four different periods (R 7 stage, 7, 14 and 21 days after the first harvest stage) and produced over the growing season 2004-2005 in two sites of the Mato Grosso do Sul State, Brazil, Sidrolândia (21º00' S lat, 55º01' W long), and Dourados (22º11' S lat, 54º55' W long). A randomized… Show more

“…In the case of soybeans, treatment 3 (maximum dose = 43.2 kJ/m 2 /day) presented similar responses to the control. These results are consistent with those mentioned by Minuzzi [44] and Rai et al [45], who indicated that the lipid and protein content of soybeans are highly influenced by humidity and temperature. The average values of vigor and germination, depending on treatments, for wheat are within the accepted limit to be considered good quality seed.…”

“…The final chemical composition of the seeds is the result of accumulation of reserve substances in the cotyledons during the filling period. The contents of oils and proteins are influenced by genetic and environmental factors (Ojo et al, 2002;Wilson, 2004;Minuzzi et al, 2007). In the last years a better understanding of the genetic regulation in the proportions of the different components that define the quality of seeds has been achieved, and cultivars known with "enhanced value" have been obtained by traditional methods or genetic manipulation.…”

“…The field seeds deterioration at the harvest time is particularly risky in Paraguay due to the precipitation that normally occurs during this period, these conditions can delay the harvest of the crop hat these conditions significantly reduce the germinative potential and the seeds vigor, this effect is with its consequent negative impact on the seed's quality (Martínez, 2011). Similarly, Minuzzi et al (2007), points out t observed in the control and the applied treatments after the first application, since they have a lower germination percentage and vigor.…”
