Captured and Cross‐Linked Palladium Nanoparticles.

Abstract: Captured and Cross-Linked Palladium Nanoparticles. -Cross-linked resin-captured palladium (XL-RC Pd) catalyzes a series of solution-phase aqueous Suzuki coupling reactions of aryl bromides to give the desired biaryls (III). Aryl chlorides such as (Ie) afford only low yields. Conducting the reactions under microwave irradiation reduces the reaction time to 10 min. The XL-RC Pd catalyst can be recycled six times without loss of catalytic activity and applied to the synthesis of sulfophthalein dyes such as (IIIf)… Show more

“…The first use of in cellulo palladium chemistry in mammalian cells was reported by Yusop [15 ], who trapped palladium nanoparticles within inert polymeric microspheres, with the catalysts evolving from recyclable and ligand free heterogeneous palladium catalysts [32]. It also built upon work which demonstrated the routine Palladium mediated chemistry in living cells Chankeshwara, Indrigo and Bradley 131 Ref.…”

“…In these reports the highly active heterogeneous catalytic system developed by Yusop [15 ] and Cho [32] converted the caged 5-fluorouracyl (5FU) [16] and Gemcitabine [17] analogues to their active forms in culture with colorectal HCT116 and pancreatic BxPC-3 cancer cell lines. 5-Propargyl fluorouracyl (Pro-FU) released the 5-FU within 24 h, producing an effect comparable to 5-FU antiproliferative activity.…”

“…The resulted resin was then filtered and washed with DCM (5 x 20 mL), methanol (5 x 20 mL), DMF (5 x 20 mL) to remove any impurities from Pd/FTO catalyst. 30 Afterwards, Pd/FTO was dried to get the final Pd/FTO catalysts.…”
