Capillary electrophoresis method for the analysis of inorganic anions, organic acids, amino acids, nucleotides, carbohydrates and other anionic compounds

Abstract: A previously developed capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) method with indirect UV detection for the simultaneous determination of inorganic and organic anions, amino acids and carbohydrates using 20 mM 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid (PDC) as the background electrolyte was extended to allow determination of 206 anions including those above--mentioned and physiological amino acids, nucleotides, aromatic acids, haloacetic acids, alcohols, phosphorylated saccharides, oxyhalides, metal oxoacids, metal-ethylenediam… Show more

“…The solute composition in apoplast and tissue sap (2-4 lL of sap solution) was identified and quantified using an Agilent capillary electrophoresis (CE) system (G1600AX, Agilent Technologies, Germany). The CE analysis was performed according to Soga and Imaizumi (2001). Separations were carried out on fused silica capillaries with 50 lm i.d.…”

“…However, each technique has both advantages and limitations 21 and hence, a combination of different analytical techniques is commonly used. For example, GC-MS 22 , LC-MS [23][24][25] , CE-MS [26][27][28] have been used for analyzing a majority of metabolites.…”

“…The group of applications has also widened markedly. The applications of CE are covering huge number of analytes from inorganic ions [4][5][6][7][8] and organic molecules [9][10][11] to biomolecules such as proteins [12][13][14] and DNA [15][16][17]. The golden era of CE was in 1990s, during the Human Genome Project [18].…”
