Canonical interpretation of the newly observed Λb(6146)0 and Λb

Abstract: Stimulated by the newly observed Λ b ð6146Þ 0 and Λ b ð6152Þ 0 resonances, we investigate the strong decays of the low-lying singly bottom baryons within the quark pair creation model. Considering their masses and decay modes, we tentatively assign these states as the λ-mode Λ b ð2SÞ, Λ b ð1DÞ, Σ b ð2SÞ, and Σ b ð1PÞ states and then estimate their strong decay widths. Compared with the experimental total widths and decay modes measured by the LHCb Collaboration, the Λ b ð6146Þ 0 and Λ b ð6152Þ 0 can be reasona… Show more

“…Then, the γ = 9.83 is obtained by reproducing the width Γ[Σ c (2520) ++ → Λ c π + ] = 14.78 MeV [5,45]. With this overall parameter γ, the strong decay behaviors of the ground and excited Λ Q and Σ Q states can be well described [45][46][47]. (1P) states are considered and the total decay widths are listed in the Tab.…”

“…Then, the possible interference effects, which were ignored in the LHCb analysis [12], might be important to pin down the decay behaviors of Λ b ð6146Þ 0 and Λ b ð6152Þ 0 . Another possible explanation is that the mass inversion may occur for the 1D Λ 0 b states [32,33]. That is to say, the Λ b ð6146Þ 0 with smaller mass should be the J P ¼ 5=2 þ state, while the Λ b ð6152Þ 0 should be a J P ¼ 3=2 þ state.…”
