“…1 The reported OC incidence in Chile is 3.2 in men and 1.2 in women, with a mortality rate ranging between 1.11 and 1.25 for every 100,000 inhabitants. 2 Although early detection of OC is considered the most effective measure in reducing its morbidity, 3 its mortality is associated with late diagnosis in advanced stages of the disease, when treatment is usually radical, and of poor prognosis.
