Abstract

This paper aims to comprehensively describe and analyse private higher education in Canada with the primary objective of presenting a comprehensive description of private higher education in the provinces and territories in Canada. It offers the structure of Canadian education systems, distinguishes between public and private higher education institutions within the Canadian context, provides an overview of the evolution of private higher education in recent decades, assesses its recent growth, prospects and explains some of the challenges within the Canadian education system.
