In interpreting these rates, recent analyses (MacLeod, 2021a, 2021b) of two more mainstream psychological journals— Memory & Cognition ( M&C ), and the Canadian Journal of Experimental Psychology ( CJEP )—provide a relevant point of comparison 2 . The citation rates for M&C (MacLeod, 2021b) clearly outstrip those for PMMB , an unsurprising result given the generalist nature of the journal, and the rather large number of researchers for whom a journal focusing on memory and cognitive processing would be a desirable outlet.…”
