Abstract: Background Acute gastric dilatation can develop in patients with anorexia nervosa who are being refed to achieve weight restoration. If unrecognized, this condition is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Patients with acute gastric dilatation usually have abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting.
