Can we discover a light singlet-like NMSSM Higgs boson at the LHC?

Abstract: In the next-to minimal supersymmetric standard model (NMSSM) one additional singlet-like Higgs boson with small couplings to standard model (SM) particles is introduced. Although the mass can be well below the discovered 125 GeV Higgs boson mass its small couplings may make a discovery at the LHC difficult. We use a novel scanning technique to efficiently scan the whole parameter space and determine the range of cross sections and branching ratios for the light singlet-like Higgs boson below 125 GeV. This allo… Show more

“…Here, we turn to the scalar sector and explore the sensitivity of the LHC to heavy scalar resonances in the U (1) B−L gauge extension. Our study extends similar earlier studies for twin and composite Higgs models [41] and the NMSSM [42].…”

“…[20,21], there are intriguing relations between Higgs mixings and the model parameters λ and μ that hold for the general NMSSM. Those relations are quite useful when examining how much Higgs mixings, which determine how the neutral Higgs bosons couple to SM particles [22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29], are constrained by the requirements on the model such as radiative corrections to the Higgs masses, the perturbativity bound on λ, and the chargino mass limit on μ. The viable region of mixing parameter space would be further constrained if one specifies singlet self-interactions.…”

“…Preliminary analysis of the zero and nonzero finite-temperature MSSM and NMSSM effective potentials has been performed [3][4][5] in the various scenarios. In comparison with other analyses not only the case of noninteracting cosmic plasma in the background fields (zeroth approximation in the couplings or the "one-loop" approximation for the free energy at nonzero temperature) has been considered [5].…”
