The removal of the epimysium from both paralyzed and healthy muscles has been used by surgeons to enhance the possibility of reinnervation of the damaged myofibers by nerves to the surrounding healthy myofibers as shown by a number of investigators (Brown, 1984;Miller et al, 1978;Erlacher, 1915).
