Can homogeneous, lipomatous tumors be primarily resected without biopsy? A retrospective analysis of 240 tumors

Abstract: Background According to guidelines, every soft tissue tumor (STT) larger than 3 cm should be biopsied before definitive resection. Advances in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) improve the possibility to give a provisional diagnosis of the tumor’s entity.
