“…This unexpected finding could be explained by the longer duration of the training session (1 hour) than the pretest (5 minutes). In fact, as previously suggested for athletes, anticipation of exercise duration, physiological feedback, and hypoxia may regulate pacing strategy and performance , emphasizing the importance of considering psychological factors when prescribing an exercise intervention to subjects with obesity . During the intervention, HR, RPE, and VASl were similar between the two conditions, while PWS and HR increased significantly during the training in both groups (Figure ).…”

“…Building on existing models and concepts in all the reviewed fields, we present a new model of fatigue, applicable to cognitive science, exercise physiology and clinical practice. This model is mainly based on Hockey’s (2013) motivational control model of executive control, effort, and fatigue; Marcora’s (2008) psychological-motivational model of exercise performance; and Marcora’s (2016) model of psychological mediators of physical activity behavior. Indeed, all these share a common denominator, as well as the clinical scale we discussed before (BFS), namely the perception of effort as a central construct.…”

“…There is no panacea for fatigue other than treating the symptoms [5]. Evidence has shown that exercise including walking, running, jogging, swimming, resistance (strengthening) training, stretching, aerobic exercise can counter fatigue among sufferers of chronic fatigue syndrome [14], multiple sclerosis [15], fibromyalgia [16] and among cancer survivors [17,18]. So we supposes that Tai Chi, a traditional Chinese martial art, may be an effective treatment for patients suffering from fatigue.…”
