Call delivery to portable telephones away from home using the local exchange network

Abstract: Recent advances in technology are making possible the development of light-weight, low-power, inexpensive portable digital radio telephones. It is desirable to allow people to originate and receive calls virtually anywhere using such a pocket-sized portable telephone.
