Calidad De Sedimentos Asociada a Actividades Antrópicas en Lagunas Costeras Semiáridas Subtropicales De La Costa Central Este Del Golfo De California

Abstract

Palabras clave: elementos traza, sedimentos estuarinos, índices de contaminación, agricultura, acuicultura RESUMEN La calidad de los sedimentos superficiales de las lagunas costeras Lobos y Tóbari, ambas receptoras de efluentes del Valle del Yaqui, en el Golfo de California, México, fue evaluada. Las concentraciones de níquel, zinc, cobre, cadmio, manganeso, plomo y hierro fueron determinadas en sedimentos de estas lagunas y del estero el Soldado que es un área natural protegida sin descargas antrópicas. El índice de contaminación metálica (ICM), el factor de enriquecimiento (FE) y el índice de geoacumulación (I geo ) fueron calculados. Se utilizaron los valores guía de calidad de sedimento (SQV, por sus siglas en inglés) para valorar el potencial riesgo a la salud de la biota. La laguna Lobos presentó la media de concentración más alta de zinc (70.1 µg/g) y cobre (16.3 µg/g), Tóbari la más alta de manganeso (747 µg/g) y El Soldado la más baja de hierro (1.05 %), así como también el menor ICM. Tanto en la laguna Lobos como en la Tóbari, el manganeso fue el único elemento que presentó un FE que indica influencia antropogénica y un I geo que corresponde a moderado. Los sitios más afectados en ambas lagunas fueron los más cercanos a las zonas agrícolas. Los SQV sugieren que en los sitios con concentraciones de níquel > 51.6μg/g (registrado en un sitio en Lobos) y de manganeso > 260μg/g (Lobos y Tóbari), deben establecerse medidas de mitigación. Lo anterior, dado que a esos niveles, dichos elementos pueden causar efectos adversos y deterioro del habitat que las especies utilizan para su reproducción, crianza y/o protección en estos ecosistemas costeros.
