Calibration results obtained with Liulin-4 type dosimeters

Abstract: The Mobile Radiation Exposure Control System's (Liulin-4 type) main purpose is to monitor simultaneously the doses and fluxes at 4 independent places. It can also be used for personnel dosimetry. The system consists of 4 battery-operated 256-channel dosimeters-spectrometers. We describe results obtained during the calibrations of the spectrometers at the Cyclotron facilities of the University of Louvain, Belgium and of the National Institute of Radiological Sciences-STA, Chiba, Japan with protons of energies u… Show more

“…The Radiation Risk Radiometer-Dosimeter for the EX-POSE-E facility (R3DE), which was mounted on the European Technology Exposure Facility (EuTEF) outside the European Columbus module of the ISS, is a Liulin-type miniature spectrometer-dosimeter (Horneck et al, 1999;Dachev et al, 2002;Hä der and Dachev, 2003). Figure 1 presents the external view of the EXPOSE-E facility (Rabbow et al, 2009(Rabbow et al, , 2012 and the R3DE instrument (Dachev, 2009), which is situated in the bottom left corner of the picture.…”

“…We have been engaged in experimental studies of air crew exposure since 1991, also in the frame of different European activities (Spurný, 1997). Since the spring of 2000, we have been using for such measurements an energy deposition spectrometer based on a Si semiconductor, MDU (Dachev et al, 2002), the equipment is described in more detail in our recent papers (Dachev et al, 2002;. It allows the estimation of low (electrons, high-energy protons, mesons, etc.)…”
