Calculation of the overburden ratio by the method of financial and mathematical averaged costs

Abstract: Purpose. To calculate the parameters of the development of brown coal deposits, including the limiting overburden ratio, when involving coal clay into the development together with brown coal in the composition of the coal mass. Methodology. To calculate the cost of mining a mineral, the method of financial and mathematical averaged costs was applied, considering the level of projected capital investments and the cost of investment funds. Findings. The influence of the involvement of coal clays in the deve… Show more

“…For the Pivnichnyi open-pit of the Pokrovskyi MPE, five technological schemes for developing overburden with two benches using non-transport and transport-dump systems are proposed. These schemes are assessed based on stripping ratios, the cost of mining of one ton of ore, and capital costs for the purchase of stripping excavators [9][10][11]. A comparison was made of the proposed schemes with the scheme actually used in the open-pit for the development of overburden with three benches.…”

“…Most studies aimed at establishing the impact of open-pit productivity on the economic indicators of development, the existing relationship between the development of mining and mining operations in a open-pit [25][26][27], is considered only on the basis of the condition that a change in the angle of slope of the working side of the open-pit [28] leads to a change in the current stripping ratios [29][30][31]. This does not take into account the need to ensure the standard volume of reserves ready for extraction [32][33][34].…”

“…Thus, the height of the upper overburden bench is equal to Нup=8 m, the height of the lower overburden bench is Нl=20 m. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the rational entry way width of the dragline excavator. To do this, using the graphic-analytical method, the volume of rocks to be re-excavated and the re-excavation coefficient [18] can be determined by the formula:…”
