Calculation of reactions cross section for proton-induced nuclear reactions on Iodine-127 isotope

Abstract: INTRODUCTION At present day, radioisotope production for nuclear medicine is important because of its common use in tomography devices. Both single photon emissions computed tomography (SPECT) and positron emission (PET) is used for diagnosis in nuclear medicine(Ahmad and Koki, 2017) particular, the radionuclide of iodine is used for these purposes. Therefore, these radionuclides play an important role in medical applications and research. For example, Gamma-emitted short long live 124 I(Artun and Aytekin, 201… Show more

“…Nuclear fission is almost ten (10) times much effective at energy of production compare to normal fossil (fuels) [1]. Nuclear reactions generate and produce massive quantities of carbon-free electricity and aside from this volume of energy produced, it protects the environment and the air we breathe [2]. In some developed countries, like U.S, Nuclear is one of 3005-4788 (Print), 3005-4796 (Online) Copyright © 2023, Kirkuk University-College of Science.…”
