Calculation of Electrochemical Parameters Starting from the Polarization Curves of Ferrocene at Glassy Carbon Electrode

Abstract: This work is a contribution to the calculation of electrochemical parameters from the polarization curves of ferrocene. The parameters are: The anodic (E pa ) and the cathodic (E pc ) peak potentials, as well as the corresponding anodic (i pa ) and cathodic (i pc ) peak currents, were obtained at different scan rates (0.05, 0.10, 0.30, 0.50 V.s -1 ). The half-wave potentials (E 1/2 ) of the couple in the investigated solvents have been evaluated. The diffusion coefficients (D) have been calculated using the Ra… Show more

“…19b For comparison, we obtained the coefficient diffusion of native Fc in DCM which is 7.72 × 10 −5 cm 2 s −1 . 20 The diffusion coefficient describes the diffusional transport and is an important parameter of the species that are involved in the electrochemical process. The comparable diffusion coefficient values for 3 and native Fc testify to the lack of a significant effect of sumanene on the mobility of its derivative with Fc.…”

“…[ 21,38 ] Additionally, the ratio of the anodic and cathodic current peak heights is close to one for PTFE, PTFE+CMC, SBR, and SBR+CMC, which reflects the reversible nature of the reaction. [ 39 ] The slopes of each line were used in conjunction with the Randles‐Sevcik equation, shown below in Equation (1), to determine the apparent diffusion coefficient for LiMn 2 O 4 in each electrode.
