In Cd-treated leguminous plants, structural alterations in leaves and roots have been reported (Vázquez et al, 1992;Vázquez et al, 2007), as well as in the root nodules of pea (Ausili et al, 2002), soybean (Chen et al, 2003) and white lupin (Carpena et al, 2003).
