Cadmium‐1,3,6,8‐tetrakis(4‐carboxylphenyl)pyrene Framework as a Thermometer for Fluorescence Sensing of Temperature

Abstract: Compounds exhibiting tunable fluorescence emission upon adjusting the temperature are considered smart materials. Herein a three-dimensional structure of {[Cd(TBAPy)(H 2 O) 2 ]·4(H 2 O)} n (1) constructed from Cd II and 1,3,6,8-tetrakis(4-carboxylphenyl)pyrene (TBAPy 4-) ligand was synthesized and characterized. Temperature-dependent fluorescence studies showed the emission intensities for com-

“…A well-known example is cadmium-based pyrene-MOFs, in which the syntheses have been performed with a specific cadmium salt (Cd(NO 3 ) 2 Á 4H 2 O) and TBAPy ligand, resulting in three different MOFs with different structures. [57][58][59] ROD-8 is a 3D rod-type MOF with 1D porous channels and it crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c. 57 Although the positions of the oxygens in carboxylates in TBAPy are crystallographically fixed, the pyrene core with four branching phenyl groups can exhibit disorder with two different positions as shown in Fig.…”

“…Pyrene was demonstrated with special excimer fluorescent property and had been widely used for chem‐detection in reported works , . In order to achieve the detection of antimony by fluorescence, we first tested the fluorescent property of Py‐IPH in the mixture of THF and water, and explored its emission under different states.…”

“…The formation of pyrene excimers will be influenced by lots of factors, such as the concentration of pyrene molecules in the system, the interaction between the pyrene fluorogens, the steric configuration of the pyrene‐based molecules and so on , . Lots of pyrene‐based fluorescent probes have been reported to be used in the response to heavy metals, temperature and so on based on their excimer fluorescent property,, so it maybe a feasible way for combining antimony reactive functional group with pyrene core to design pyrene‐basd antimony probes, which can change the speed for the formation of pyrene excimers in the system, and achieve the fluorescent detection of antimony with high sensitivity.…”
