“…Coronary endarterectomy has also been shown to safely achieve complete coronary revascularisation with acceptable results, even in patients with end-stage coronary artery disease [7]. However, some studies have reported an increased incidence of mortality and morbidity, especially if coronary endarterectomy was performed in the left anterior descending artery (LAD) [8].…”

“…However, there is division of opinion among many surgeons about the safety and effectiveness of the technique; although proponents claim that it is the last option for patients with end-stage CAD [4,5], opponents assert that it is associated with higher mortality and morbidity [6,7].…”

“…Long‐term survival of MCE was 64% at five years and 36% at 10 years. The previously reported survival of coronary endarterectomy ranges from 70% to 91% at five years 1–5,8 and 45% to 74% at 10 years 1,2 . There is no previous report on the long‐term outcome of MCE.…”

“…Coronary endarterectomy has been shown to be feasible and effective for revascularization of a diffusely diseased coronary artery. [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] In cases with multivessel diffuse coronary artery disease, we may achieve complete myocardial revascularization with multiple coronary endarterectomy (MCE). However, the outcome of MCE remains poorly defined.…”
