By regulating miR-182-5p/BCL10/CYCS, sufentanil reduces the apoptosis of umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells caused by ropivacaine

Abstract: Sufentanil is a type of opioid analgesic and is usually used to facilitate painless labor in combination with the local anesthetic ropivacaine. One aim of the current study was to investigate the effects of sufentanil and ropivacaine on umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (UCMSCs). A second aim of this study was to determine whether sufentanil attenuated the cytotoxicity of ropivacaine in vitro. UCMSCs were divided into 3 groups: one was treated with ropivacaine at a concentration of 50, 100, 200, or 400 μg/… Show more

“…Interactions have been observed in other drugs commonly used in clinical practice. Li et al documented that ropivacaine inhibits cellular viability and induces apoptosis, whereas concomitant use of sufentanil mitigates its action by means of miRNA-182-5p/BCL10/CYCS regulation [ 176 ]. Qu et al suggest that the beneficial effects of lidocaine on colorectal cancer could be mediated by the upregulation of miRNA-520 a-3p and targeting EGFR [ 177 ].…”

“…As LD and BP inhibit ion channels, the observed alternation in the gene expressions may be associated with ion transport. Likewise, several previous studies suggest that ion channels play roles in cell cycle, metabolism, and mechanotransduction of MSCs, PDLSCs, and TSCs [ 3 , 32 34 ]. Yet, we cannot rule out the possibility that LD and BP may interact with certain receptors in the stem/progenitor cells directly or indirectly.…”
