This work shows a method based on Business Intelligence and its application for solving issues and problems in small and medium industries. In this matter, methodologies used by specialists were investigated: three methods were chosen and evaluated, and, of them, the CRISP-DM (Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining) methodology was used as a reference. Making an unconventional use of a commercial BI platform, the methodology was applied to a real case study: an agro-industrial company. After the application of the methodology and the descriptive, diagnostic and prescriptive analyzes, information and knowledge were found that allowed to propose the deployment of corrective measures that will improve the management of the company's electricity supply. This showed that these tools not only have application in commercial matters but also in the management of the electricity supply and, therefore, in the organizational performance of the company.

The extraction of useful information supports the process of making business decisions. In every mechanical process, application or service, the periodic maintenance of the necessary equipment is an expensive process and therefore the technicians and the supervisors have the responsibility of the proper decision making. At the railway companies, a huge amount of data is produced which, with the appropriate processing and smart business systems, can attribute quality information and knowledge. In this paper, the benefits of the business intelligence are presented with the techniques of machine learning and data mining involved of the Greek railway companies, which use obsolete procedures of maintenance. In addition, a study of the present situation is held as well as a record of the needs and requirements of the railway companies. At the same time, tools (open source of low cost) of machine learning and data mining are examined that can assist on the creation of a new strategic support of decisions for the development of the predictive maintenance of the Greek railways making a new complete system of business intelligence. Finally, the results and the motives of the railway companies are presented in order to create applications which can constitute the basic tool for the improvement of making decisions by the business's administration.

This paper primarily blends two-study fields based on control systems with data acquisition methodology and builds a database system to produce the data according to the chosen attributes. The sensors for weather station were used to quantify and store data about temperature, humidity, and wind speed. The collected data can be represented as direct and indirect in two forms owing to the regular reading and preservation of the data as a specific database system respectively. The new technologies for the development of databases are considered the main challenge of this research. The entire system tracks and controls positions centrally and remotely depending on the regular climate change that happens, to keep the desired positions in optimal environmental situations. The proposed device uses an ESP8266 node MCU microcontroller to manage and monitor the condition of the location whenever and wherever remotely controlled NET PI network system is used. The ESP8266 serves as an AP access point, connected to the network through a Wi-Fi (router) station. Furthermore, the webserver can automatically and manually switch the devices ON/OFF through the NETPI platform. Finally, the weather information can be realized in the same manner and can be stored in an excel sheet simultaneously to be visualized via the R programming language.
