“…The use of highly accurate models is critically important in 3D VSP imaging, especially when VSP images are expected to fill illumination gaps and provide a much higher-resolution images required for identifying and interpreting thin sand beds generally undetectable on surface seismic data. The new 2017 model yielded high-resolution VSP images of exceptional quality and enabled Joy et al (2018) to fully achieve the Well 822-14 3D VSP objectives.…”
