“…Role ambiguity is when job expectations are unclear whereas role conflict occurs when these expectations are incompatible, such as being told that one's duties are wholly allocated to clinical work, but then also being assigned precepting responsibilities. Although some have argued that pharmacists can simply say “no” to such roles, 11 this advice fails to account for the subtle yet powerful ways that these roles can become expectations of the job if not the professional identity of a pharmacist.
