Abstract:Further analyses have been performed on a U02-B4C fuel element which was thermally tested under both radial and axial thermal gradients. A new sampling technique was employed which permitted the division of radial samples into smaller volumes of material than was previously used for boron analyses. With this technique, the boron losses, predicted for open systems, was observed, especially in that region of the fuel which was operating above 13500C, No significant boron migration was detected in either the radi… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
