Renewable energy sources are considered as clean energy sources. They have a much lower environmental impact than other energy sources. Among the renewable energy sources, the wind is an important energy source. In many countries the wind power production is so popular and many alternative research techniques related to wind energy are applied. Wind energy comes to the forefront today due to the increasing population of countries and the increase in energy needs. In our country the studies about the renewable energy has evolved rapidly over the past decade. The cost of initial installation of Wind Energy Plants (WEP) is high and they can only be installed if certain conditions are met. Site selection for wind turbine installation is not a technical process only, also a complex process is necessary for involving social, economic, physical and environmental sanctions. Therefore, site selection of wind energy plants is a very complex spatial decision problem for decision makers. For the different site selection studies multi criteria evaluation methods are often used. In the study, potential WEP investment areas of Osmaniye province were determined by using, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method and remote sensing. The criteria selected according to the general characteristics of the study area were combined with ArcGIS software using the weight values obtained with AHP and suitable areas for the WEP installation were determined. The land suitability index maps for the WEP siting is created in the ArcGIS program. The weighted Sum analysis of the Spatial Analyst Tool is used for this purpose. According to the results, 14.30% of the study area are suitable, 15.84% are moderate suitable and 69.86% are not suitable for wind energy plant siting.

Dünyada enerji tüketimi sürekli olarak arttığı için ihtiyaç olan enerjinin bir kısmı yeni enerji kaynakları ile karşılanmaktadır. Bu enerji kaynaklarının seçiminde doğaya katkısı ve kaynak verimi açısından yenilenebilir enerji kaynakları tercih edilmektedir. Güneş enerjisi yenilenebilir enerji kaynakları içerisinde önemli bir paya sahiptir. Elektrikli demiryollarında güç ihtiyacı yüksek mertebelere ulaştığı için tüketilen enerjinin optimize edilerek kullanılması gerekmektedir. Yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklarının demiryollarında kullanılması enerji tüketiminin kontrol edilmesinde büyük öneme sahiptir. Bu çalışmada 1500 V DC beslemeli bir raylı sistem hattında solar hücre sisteminin modellenmesi ve fizibilitesi araştırılmıştır. Kullanılan alana ait fizibilite yapılarak tasarımın optimal şartlara sahip olması hedeflenmiştir. Çalışma için bir raylı sistem hattına ait veriler kullanılarak hesaplamalar yapılmış ve sistem analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar karşılaştırmalı olarak verilerek sistemin performansı ve doğrulanabilirliği ortaya konulmuştur.

Solar energy is among the sustainable and renewable energy sources that have become an important and inevitable part of our lives today. It is of great importance to consider economic, environmental and social factors in determining the installation locations of solar power plants (SPP). In this study, it is aimed to determine suitable areas where SPP can be established in Safranbolu district by using the Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP), which is one of the Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods together with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), in order to enable the decision makers to express their preferences in approximate or adaptable ways. The criteria addressed in the technical analysis process were also determined by supporting the basic principles of impact assessment systems. Within the scope of the environmental analysis, the relevant national and international legal framework was also examined and the legal constraints were identi ed. Thus, in the process of determining the optimal areas for SPP, it has been tried to produce sustainable solutions that are expected to have minimal impact on the integrity of the natural system. According to the results obtained, there are very suitable areas for SPP installation in the central and western parts of Safranbolu district, and there are also areas suitable for SPP installation in the northern and southern parts of the district. It was also observed that these areas do not con ict with the basic principles of impact assessment systems.
