ABSTRAKSkizofrenia merupakan penyakit gangguan jiwa yang menyebabkan beban serta mekanisme koping maladaptif pada keluarga. Beban dan mekanisme koping maladaptif berdampak pada kualitas hidup keluarga dan kemampuan keluarga dalam merawat pasien skizofrenia. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk membuktikan pengaruh terapi suportif kelompok terhadap beban dan mekanisme koping keluarga dalam merawat pasien skizofrenia. Desain penelitian ini quasy experimental pre post test with control group design. Jumlah sampel terdiri dari 29 responden, dimana 14 responden adalah kelompok intervensi dan 15 responden adalah kelompok kontrol dengan purposive sampling. Adapun variabel beban menggunakan alat ukur the zarit burden interview (ZBI) serta variabel mekanisme koping menggunakan brief COPE inventory (BCI). Terapi suportif ini dilakukan selama 4 sesi yang terdiri dari 6 kali pertemuan. Hasil penelitian terdapat perbedaan nilai beban dan mekanisme koping sebelum dan sesudah terapi suportif pada perlakuan (p value=0,000). Kelompok kontrol terdapat perbedaan nilai beban sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan kesehatan (p value=0,010), tetapi tidak terdapat perbedaan nilai mekanisme koping sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan kesehatan (p value=0,225). Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada beban (p value=0,002) dan mekanisme koping (p value=0,001) antara kelompok intervensi dan kontrol sesudah diberikan terapi suportif. RSUD dr. Rehatta diharapkan memfasilitasi adanya pembentukan peer support group pada keluarga di poli jiwa sehingga kesehatan jiwa keluarga dapat tercapai. This study analyzes the dimensions and consequences of the burden of caregivers of patients with SMD (Severe Mental Disorder) and the repercussions that this role has on their quality of life and health in the physical, psychic and social spheres. This is a descriptive cross-sectional study and inferential observational study which explores caregivers of patients with SMD admitted to Psychiatry Day Hospital (Huesca, Spain). The technique of consecutive cases was used as a technique for sampling and sample selection. An individualized interview was arranged, where sociodemographic data were collected and scales and instruments were administered. 52 caregivers met the inclusion criteria. The female sex predominates (67%), being the patient's mother (48%). The average age of caregivers is 60 years old. Almost 60% of the sample presents intense burden and alterations of general mental health, 77% reveal anxiety and depression, and 46% little social support.Burden is associated with hospitalization within the last year, anxiety, or total social support received.
