Školitel: Maxmilián Wittmann Tematický okruh: UrbanismusThe Future of "Panelák" Housing Estates Around one in three Czechs still live in housing estates composed of prefabricated concrete buildings ("panelák"). The construction of such estates was motivated by an enormous housing demand in towns and cities. In their time, "panelák" housing estates provided affordable housing with good sanitation for a large number of people. Before actual construction, significant amounts of energy were dedicated to theoretical work and analysis, resulting in highquality, functional and practical housing units.
