Bubble dynamics near the onset of single-bubble sonoluminescence

Abstract: A number of groups have reported measurements of the location in the parameter space of bubble size versus acoustic pressure amplitude of shape- and size-stable bubbles. For air/water systems, a general trend emerges: stable bubbles are found on one of two line paths in this space defined by their range of acoustic pressure.
