BSND and ATP6V1G3

Abstract: Differentiating between chromophobe renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and other RCC subtypes can be problematic using routine light microscopy. This study aimed to identify novel immunohistochemical markers useful for a differential diagnosis between chromophobe RCC and other RCC subtypes. We selected 3 genes (including BSND and ATP6V1G3) that showed specific transcriptional expression in chromophobe RCC using expression data (n = 783) from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. A subsequent immunohistochemical exam… Show more

“…STRN has multiple functional signaling complexes which are reportedly involved in the tumorigenesis of various cancers [ 45 ]. miR-342-3p additionally targets ATP6V1G3 , an integral protein-coding gene for the regulation of membrane transport, which has also been identified as an immunohistochemical marker for different cancers [ 46 ]. Lastly, PTPN4 , a PLR-associated gene, plays a role in immunity via cellular signaling and cell death prevention [ 23 , 47 ] and has been previously linked to various cancers [ 48 ].…”

“…COX17 and UQCRQ are both involved in the formation of mitochondrial respiratory chain 21 . ATP6V1G3 has also been implicated in the oxidative phosphorylation pathway and has been found to be one of the novel immunohistochemical markers for chromophobe renal cell carcinoma 22 . In addition, we also found similar changes of COX7B, COX6A2 and UQCRQ also exist in the cardiac muscle contraction pathway.…”

“…Subunit G3: Subunit G3 is expressed in kidney and rat epididymis 105 , 109 . Its protein is used as a novel immunohistochemical marker for differentiating subtypes of chromophobe renal cell carcinoma (RCC) including clear cell, papillary RCCs 114 , 115 , and osteosarcoma 116 .…”
