“…With aging, loss of elastin and collagen in the upper eyelid skin and preserved function of the orbicularis muscle can lead to sagging of anatomical structures and brow ptosis with dermatochalasis, bringing about aesthetic issues and visual obstacles. 17,27,28 The main sag tends to occur at the lateral one-third of the eyebrows, because the only brow elevator, the frontalis, is not attached at this area. 17 Morley et al described the upper eyelid area in terms of the distance between the eyelid margin and the upper eyelid skinfold, termed the pretarsal show, and the distance between the skinfold and relaxed brow, termed the preseptal show.…”

The scar can be hidden in the brow hairs if performed in appropriate patients with thick brows.…”

“…The direct browplasty involves bilateral elliptical incisions immediately above the brows [7]. Closure of the elliptical excision area alters the brow's shape resulting in an arched brow with the maximum arch being at the center of the brow and feminized appearance [68]. Besides, arching may lead to a surprised look or “clown” appearance.…”
