Broadband ultrafast nonlinear optical studies revealing exciting multi-photon absorption coefficients in phase pure zero-dimensional Cs4PbBr6 perovskite films

Abstract: Lead halide perovskite nanocrystals have recently demonstrated promising nonlinear optical properties such as strong two-photon absorption, three-photon absorption, four-photon absorption and their respective cross-sections.

“…3c, Table S6†). 28 The results obtained were consistent with those of 3PEF experiments: DZ1 unveiled an enhanced 3PA cross-section in the aggregated state. Meanwhile, a much larger 3PA cross-section could be obtained via the Z-scan method because it can effectively shield the energy consumed by the thermal effect and molecular rotation during photo-absorption 29.…”

“…Overall, the β values of TCMHP film are significantly higher than those of MAPbI 3 film and an order of magnitude higher near to the peak intensity of 35 GW cm −2 . While we could not observe the 3PA response for MAPbI 3 film, the obtained γ values of TCMHP film for each intensity are much larger than those of other perovskite film, micro‐/nanocrystals, and single crystal 15,16,56–60. The β and γ values of various types of perovskite materials reported in previous literatures and current study are summarized in Table 1 .…”

“…Analogous to low‐dimensional 3D metal‐halide perovskites, RPPs (including 2D metal‐halide perovskites, n = 1) and 0D metal‐halide perovskites in low dimension possess fascinating third‐order and higher‐order nonlinear optical characteristics. [ 112–120 ] Concretely, giant and tunable third‐order nonlinear optical response such as 2PA, [ 112,115,117,118 ] SA, [ 118 ] THG, [ 116,119 ] nonlinear refraction, [ 118 ] and higher‐order 3PA [ 114,117 ] have been revealed in low‐dimensional RPPs, thanks to the superb excitonic resonance enhancement. Moreover, targeting at further promoting the nonlinear optical properties of 2D metal‐halide perovskites (RPPs, n = 1), the hybrid dielectric structures between them and dielectric microspheres have been developed to achieve cooperative enhancement.…”
