The digital transformation has been accountable for major socio-cultural and economic changes, requiring different management solutions from governments and corporations. Data have a fundamental role due to their contribution to the decision-making process. An unexpected accelerator of these changes was a virus that paralyzed Brazil and the world, generating social isolation and freezing the economy while all the attention turned on how to contain and mitigate it. The social and economic impacts, especially on the low-income Brazilian population, were immediate. In May 2020, Dataprev (Social Security Technology and Information Company)'s core capabilities were used to put in place in 14 days the Emergency Aid program, fundamental to prevent the impacts from being even greater for the Brazilian population. In this study, we present the role and relevance of using technology and big data analytics (BDA) as the basis for the implementation of the largest aid program ever developed in the country, in which the Government invested R$ 265 billion (50 billion USD) and benefited more than 65 million people.

When developing large data processing systems, the question of data storage arises. One of the modern tools for solving this problem is the so-called data lakes. Many implementations of data lakes use Apache Hadoop as a basic platform. Hadoop does not have a default data storage format, which leads to the task of choosing a data format when designing a data processing system. To solve this problem, it is necessary to proceed from the results of the assessment according to several criteria. In turn, experimental evaluation does not always give a complete understanding of the possibilities for working with a particular data storage format. In this case, it is necessary to study the features of the format, its internal structure, recommendations for use, etc. The article describes the features of both widely used data storage formats and the currently gaining popularity.

On the basis of reliability, rational models are useful but not in terms of systems which involve huge amount of data; in such cases, non-relational models are much more useful. To store large chunks of data, NoSQL databases are used. NoSQL databases are scalable and wide ranged because they are non-relationally distributed. In relational databases, it was not possible to manage data which involved very large number of Big Data applications hence the concept of NoSQL database was introduced. There are a lot of advantages of NoSQL which not only involve its own features but also some features of relational database management system. The severe benefit of NoSQL database is that it is an open source system which helps to adapt many numbers of features for newly generated applications. This paper is focused on understanding the concepts of non-relational database system architecture with relational database system architecture and figure out the advantages and disadvantages of both simultaneously.
