PurposeThis research aims to elucidate the complex relationships among internship learning performance, problem-solving efficacy, and their determinants by simultaneously examining a key variable that may moderate these relationships.Design/methodology/approachThis study carried out its empirical examination by surveying graduate students at a prestigious university in Taiwan. The investigation selected two programs from the College of Management and another two from the College of Engineering within the university through a random sampling approach. The selection of research participants from the domains of management and engineering is well-suited to this study’s objectives, given the pronounced prevalence of internships in these fields. Of the 280 questionnaires, 234 usable questionnaires were finally collected for a response rate of 83.57%.FindingsThe findings of this study show that learning goal orientation and communication skill learning both represent critical motivations that directly dominate the growth of problem-solving efficacy to ultimately boost learning performance. At the same time, the positive moderation of learning climate suggests the learning climate as an accelerator for learning autonomy that boosts interns’ problem-solving efficacy more strongly.Originality/valueThis study presents an expansion of the social learning theory’s conventional focus on general self-efficacy beliefs by delving into the realm of internships as a unique research context to explore problem-solving efficacy as a distinct facet of self-efficacy. Within this context, the study integrates the mediating role of problem-solving efficacy into the learning dynamics of internships, where interns engage in both learning goal orientation and communication skill learning. By concentrating on the internship setting within the workplace, this study effectively bridges the domains of management education and vocational psychology, extending insights beyond the classroom to comprehensively grasp the impact of learning goal orientation and communication skill learning.

Corporate Internship is a platform or an opportunity from where learner starts their first professional learning practically. She or he will develop a motivation towards the work and the learning process. In the process of learning corporate internship is a gateway in to the corporate world for the students. In this work process they can develop a new skill of work for doing their job in a better way. To be in the corporate company, intern can learn corporate practices like corporate governance, compliances, securities, mergers etc. learn how to work under work pressure. Team building, team work is also another learning area. Human capital is one of the most important things for the interns. Human capital refers to the economic values of a worker's experience and skill. It also refers to the employee's loyalty, punctuality, discipline, training, education, intelligence, attitude to others, worker's work experience, positive in thoughts and works. Human capital is an intangible asset and it does not affect the balance sheet but it is very important for the employee and the internee also for the betterment of their career. That's why enhancing this human capital, is very important. Employer can enhance this capital provide better education, healthy atmosphere to work, divide specialized employee to specialized area. Internship has sharpened the professional qualities, professional skillset within. The elemental content of the work at the internship requires the total understanding of the corporate prerogative in one hand and the functional objective of the internee of the other. Internship work design and work flow is elemental learning for the internee. Common minimum agenda through a process of continuous understanding can effectively create a homogeneous process and system to support the individual's learning aspiration in one hand and gains through works on the others. Through the internship process learners can touches the light of knowledge. The attributes of Human capital can be enhanced through the process of internship learning.

This case study aims to evaluate the associate degree curriculum in child development. In the curriculum evaluation process, Stufflebeam's CIPP curriculum evaluation model was chosen. In the process of collecting data, interviews were conducted with 64 associate degree students and six instructors working in this programme. The data obtained from the interviews were analyzed by content analysis method. The results suggest that the content of the most effective courses in the program includes important and new information for students' professional development, and includes the information needed in daily life. In addition, the students prefer to be taught practically and effectively with different methods/techniques in the teaching and learning processes. They also suggest that the program should include formative assesment and extracurricular activities such as visits to institutions, conferences/ seminars, and internships. On the other hand, the instructors stated that the problems arising from the students and the deficiencies related to the physical facilities (infrastructure), such as students' lack of interest/willingness to the course, reduce the effectiveness of the curriculum. Based on the results of the study, 21st-century skills should be included and students' professional, academic and social development should be supported in the program. Different methods/techniques, materials and extracurricular activities should be used to ensure that students engage in the course with interest and enthusiasm, and multiple assessment methods/tools should be used in the assessment and evaluation process.
