In a review of 13 cases of IBI-FCABG, Walker et al 7 identified the comorbidities: age >50 years (100%), macromastia (62%), hypertension (62%), obesity (54%), diabetes mellitus (54%), and calciphylaxis (54%). The latter disorder, absent in our case, is characterized by intramural vascular calcifications and intimal proliferation of arteries, and is almost always related to chronic renal failure and secondary hyperparathyroidism.…”
