“…However, for preparation of aqueous infusion solutions containing the required drug quantity for the attainment of cytocidal drug levels in vivo, the use of additives like polyethylene glycol 400 is indispensable, even in case of the most soluble "leaving group" derivatives, 4F-Pt(OHMal) and 4F-Pt(Thpdc) (compare references [6,7] ).…”

“…For such stability studies we use iodide as nucleophile which, like S-containing amino acids, peptides and proteins, displaces the Pt-coordinated "leaving group" (Scheme 2). In kinetic studies the use of iodide instead of the main plasma component albumin as nucleophile gave the same order of reactivity [1] and allowed the assessment of the in vivo stability by comparison with the standard compounds cisplatin and carboplatin (formula see Chart II) [1,6] . Furthermore, the "iodide assay" is of considerable advantage from an experimental point of view, since it permits a fast and uncomplicated direct quantitative determination of educt [4F-Pt(X)], intermediate [4F-Pt(X)I] and product [4F-PtI 2 ] in the reaction mixture with HPLC (for the experimental conditions see Section 4.2.5 and 4.2.5.1 as well as ref.…”
