Branching fractions of semileptonic D and $$D_s$$ D s decays from the covariant light-front quark model

Abstract: Based on the predictions of the relevant form factors from the covariant light-front quark model, we show the branching fractions for the D(D s ) → (P, S, V, A) ℓν ℓ (ℓ = e or µ) decays, where P denotes the pseudoscalar meson, S the scalar meson with a mass above 1 GeV, V the vector meson and A the axial-vector one. Comparison with the available experimental results are made, and we find an excellent agreement. The predictions for other decay modes can be tested in a charm factory, e.g., the BESIII detector. “…Only for the D → K * ℓν ℓ decay branching fractions we obtain somewhat lower central values than the data [1], while Refs. [26,27] give significantly larger values. Thus the precise measurement of these branching fractions is the important test of the models.…”

“…calculated form factors in the framework of the covariant confining quark model. The covariant light-front quark model was employed in Refs [27][28][29],. while Comparison of our predictions for the product f + (q 2 )|V cq | (solid curve) and f 0 (q 2 )|V cq | (dashed curve) with experimental data for f + (q 2 )|V cq | form Belle[22] (orange dots with error bars) and BaBar[23] (red dots with error bars) and lattice results[24] for f + (q 2 )|V cq | (green dots with error bars) and f 0 (q 2 )|V cq | (magenta dots with error bars) of the weak D → K (q = s) and D → π (q = d) transitions.…”

“…Perhaps, one of the most apt formulations for the analysis of exclusive processes involving hadrons may be provided in the framework of light-front (LF) quantization [38]. The semileptonic and rare D decays have also been analyzed by the light-front quark model (LFQM) [39][40][41][42][43][44][45][46][47] based on the LF quantization.…”
