The Internet of Things (IoT) has revolutionized connectivity, enhancing accessibility to devices and information. This advancement addresses challenges faced by deaf-blind individuals, such as slow learning and memory issues. A new ASL learning kit has been developed to address these challenges, featuring physical and interactive elements for an engaging experience. Two learning methods are available: one involves RFID sign language cards tapped on an RFID reader, triggering an LCD visualizer with ASL alphabets and videos; the other method uses a Braille-embedded keyboard to provide audio feedback through ESpeak for ASL gestures. This ASL learning kit aims to boost the interest and effectiveness of deaf-blind students in learning ASL and Braille.

The aim of this study is to investigation of the attitudes of undergraduate students of special education department and other education faculty students towards Braille writing. This research is descriptive. Sociodemographic data were collected online from 311 special education and other education faculty undergraduate students who voluntarily participated in the study and whose consent was obtained, using a sociodemographic data collection form and the Attitude Scale Towards Braille Writing (ASTBW). In statistical analyses, t test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), and Cronbach’s alpha reliability coefficient were calculated using SPSS 25.0 data analysis software. It was determined that 71.1% of the participants were female and 24.1% were male. About 52.4% of them were students of special education teaching department. According to the mean scores obtained, the participants’ beliefs were at a medium level, their interest and desire were at a high level, and their desire to learn was at a very high level. It was found that there were significant differences between the sociodemographic descriptive information of the students in the undergraduate department of special education and other education faculties and their attitudes towards Braille. It was stated that the attitudes of the students in the undergraduate of special education department and other education faculties towards Braille writing varied. It is thought that it will be a guide to conduct research in the related field to include other departments in the faculty of education.

This paper intended to analyze whether the library resources available for visually impaired students supported their academic process. In order to examine this issue, surveys and semi-structured interviews were conducted to cover the different perspectives and the familiarity of students with functional diversities, the teachers responsible for them, and the librarians in regard to these materials. Additionally, a document analysis was implemented to count the number of braille resources, classify, and collect data about accessibility and content that this material provides. The preliminary results displayed that the library has a lack of braille books in accordance with the number of blind students from different faculties that the same possesses. The following article discusses the implications this issue has for the academic process.
